For whom the bell tolls by Ernest Hemingway. Well what is going on in the book is the spanish civil war of 1936-37. This book is about an american named Robert Jordan who fights for what he beleives in the spanish mountains. So far in the book there has been a limited number of characters. Everyone of those characters has a specific role in the book. The bad thing about this book is that it is hard to understand who is the fascist and the republicans. The spanish revolution took place in 1936 in spain. It took place because of all the unemployment occuring during that time, A lot of people were being laid off. What was the leading cause to the spanish civil war?

  2. Hey Victor,
Your research paper question seems to be too simple because you can probable find the answer fast and maybe and not be a answered in 5 pages. I think it would be answered in a paragraph. But Its okay.

  3. Hi Victor,
There is some very intersting information in your historical analysis of the initial revolt. I don't know if Hemingway really talks about that in the text. Could you discuss how the rebels were depicted in the novel? Does Hemingway's perspective (American-not Spanish) effect that? Food for thought. Let's talk about updating the question for tomorrow.
